Kostas is a passionate sustainability leader whose career over the past five years has focused on sustainability policy and strategic initiatives. Over the past decade, he has served as a board member and senior executive, representing the maritime transport sector at UN, European and international regulatory and industry fora. He brings more than 20 years of experience addressing key sustainability and operational challenges across transportation, supply chains and related industries, underpinned by a PhD in maritime transport.

Kostas is a highly organised and dependable senior executive with established professional stature. With a solid technical foundation as an engineer, he combines experience in managing teams and delivering results with a strong ability to maintain policy perspective and focus on the bigger strategic challenges.

He holds the position of Director / Secretary General of INTERCARGO since Oct. 2016. During his time, the Association’s membership has more than doubled to currently bringing together more than 450 forward thinking companies from over 35 countries in uniting and promoting quality dry bulk shipping.

He is Fellow (FICRS) of the Institute of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (2025).
